The Marine Engineering Department, Faculty of Maritime Studies at King Abdulaziz University aims through its outstanding program to graduate students who are familiar with the operation, maintenance, and repair of marine equipment onboard ships, and with shipbuilding and repair to work as Marine Engineers in many governmental and commercial sectors. The Department through the Faculty of Maritime Studies looks forward to the establishment of International Agreements with global bodies in the area of specializationas well as dealing with scientific bodies and different schools of thoughts to share experiences and create partnerships and transfer knowledge. The Department of Marine Engineering provides its students with practical maritime training opportunities onboard ships according to a distinct training programme and compatible with the provisions of the University and in conformity with the International Treaty (STCW 95) to give the students practical experience in this field.
